Sports New Media are looking for a new Project Co-ordnator to join their team.

The ideal candidate for this role will have excellent communication skills including a good command of written English.

You will need to be extremely well organised, with the ability to juggle multiple project tasks at once.

Day-to-day, the role will include managing current and new online projects, which could include anything from putting together a quote, Vision and Scope document, or Functional Specification, to creating a site map, project timeline, or keyword research for SEO.

You will be one of the main points of contact for clients on current online projects, and it will be your responsibility to manage their expectations. You will also work with designers and developers on projects, serving as a liaison between them and the client.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Coordinating project planning and implementation, including assessing needs, setting goals and objectives
  • Helping out with project budget planning and development
  • Establishing project work plan, calendar or schedule, and also monitoring and evaluating progress
  • Attending meetings - establishing and maintaining internal and external contacts as necessary
  • Monitoring records and files for the project
  • Serves as a liaison, coordinating activities and exchanges information for the project


Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Excellent planning, organisational and communication skills
  • Knowledge of project planning
  • Ability to conceptualise and organise the project planning process
  • Problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of computers and spreadsheet / word processing software

PFA online internship position

Sports New Media are an online media company who have worked with a number of high profile sporting associations, including The Professional Footballers’ Association. We have this unique opportunity for someone to come onboard who has a vast knowledge of everything football related from the top English football teams and leagues to grassroots.

If you think you would be the right candidate to join our small but busy team and help with the day-to-day running of things then please get in touch. Below are some of the tasks that the role involves but don’t worry if you do not have all the online skills mentioned as training will be provided:

- Updating the content on The PFA website with unique football news, interviews, video and imaging

- Creating/updating html for PFA newsletters

- Online marketing using forums and Facebook

- Administration duties such as packaging up prizes, managing online helpdesk queries and helping us out with general office duties.

This is a 3 month unpaid internship with the possibility to turn permanent. We will endeavor to teach you plenty.

As well as all the tea and coffee you can drink, we may also be able to offer you the opportunity to attend football matches for PFA award presentations.

Your Profile


As a Sales Executive at Sports New Media you will be a Media Sales professional with a background in e Mail Marketing, ideally within the Sports sector. You will be open to travel and have a strong client-facing presence along with the ability to network and present sales pitches face-to-face. You will have demonstrable experience of new business development and must adopt a consultative approach to sales, with a strong understanding of the media market. You will be adept at negotiation while having the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain healthy client relationships.

The Role


The role requires a candidate who has a successful track record in hitting targets. As a Sales Executive, you will have the responsibility of generating revenue from key clients, with a particular focus on Sports brands, Football Clubs and Agencies. You will split your time between New Business Development and Account Management. You will assume a position within a highly successful team, with rapid career progression and provide strategic insight to the management team.
