  • One week on, and Sports New Media have already taken advantage of claiming a coveted NMA Award at the lavish ceremony in London last week.

The awards are seen as the pinnacle in the new media industry, with the best in the business out in force and looking to receive one of the prestigious honours.

Sports New Media were one of the winners, with CEO Nick Thain and MD Jae Chalfin claiming the award in the business category of Sport from guest host Claudia Winkleman at the Grovenor House Hotel.

The awards ceremony was a week ago now, but already it’s been advantageous to the company in many ways,” noted Thain.

“Some big agencies and important people were at the event, and we’ve already been in contact with a number of people who recognised the potential of the work we’re doing on facebook.

“Winning the award showcased us to those companies in a way that you can only dream about, and we’re actively looking to take advantage of this as soon as possible.”

Chalfin also saw the potential significance of winning an award at the event, which sets out to promote the quality of new media usage in the UK.

NMA recognition in the ‘best use of social media’ category, with Sports New Media shortlisted for their work on PFA Fan Pages, provided yet another reason to be cheerful for the company on a momentous evening.

To win an award on the first time of entry is fantastic news for the company, and to be shortlisted in a competitive category like best use of social media is a real bonus for us.

“It gives us instant credibility in terms of our work in sport and in the whole social media sphere, which could prove to be crucial with regards to the potential direction of the company in the future.”
