  • Sports New Media shortlisted in the Sport Category and in the Best Use of Social Media Category

Sports New Media continue to build on their growing reputation in the world of social media with three nominations at the prestigious New Media Age Awards.

The company, which currently connects its brands with over 6 million fans using facebook and e-mail data, has been shortlisted in both categories entered, namely ‘Best Use of Social Media’ and ‘Sport’.

Additionally, Sports New Media’s Facebook Pages are in contention for the NMA Effectiveness Award 2010, the self-proclaimed greatest prize in new media.

As an online media company that specialises in working with high profile associations, Sports New Media has utilised its relationships to build a truly staggering base of fans on Facebook.

Sports New Media set-up hundreds Facebook Pages, the company built-up these pages by providing instant football news, videos and amazing prizes where the fans can vote for their player of the month and walk on the pitch to meet him.

Sports New Media CEO Nick Thain is understandably delighted with the nominations, and believes that this recognition is just rewards for the tireless efforts of a great team.

The NMA Awards are the pinnacle in this business, and to be shortlisted in both the ‘best use of social media’ and ’sport’ categories is a real coup for the company.

We have a great team who have all worked tirelessly on the Facebook Pages, and to gain recognition from industry leaders is something to be really proud of.

The additional inclusion on the Effectiveness Award shortlist adds another string to our bow, and we can be proud of our achievements thus far. We have great plans for the Facebook Pages, and this emphasises the point that we’re moving in the right direction at a rapid pace.

The NMA Awards panel has recognised this fast-paced growth, and Sports New Media will be up against big-hitting brands like Nike, HSBC, PKR and Google when the winners are announced on June 24th.
